Sequoyah National Golf Club in Cherokee NC is truly an awe-inspiring place to play a round of golf while visiting the Great Smoky Mountains! The views alone are worth the price of admission, more on that in a moment. The course itself is owned by the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians and Robert Trent Jones II design. The course has a par of 72 and is 6,600 yards from the back tees. If you are looking for a challenge this is one of the more difficult, yet rewarding golf courses in the Smoky Mountains for sure. The fairways are rolling hills of blue grass, so often, even with a great tee shot, your uneven stance will provide an additional challenge. The bent grass greens will also provide a fast, slick putting surface that will roll true and always towards the stream! The rolling hills, long range mountain views, and peaceful mountain setting will absolutely inspire you and your group of golfers to return year after year. You will find the golf carts have built in GPS systems which are very helpful, especially your first few times playing any golf course in the Smoky Mountains. Be sure to check out our traveler tips and tricks for Sequoyah National below for the best golfing experience. The golf course is easily found along Highway 441 just off the exit in Cherokee NC.
