One of A Kind Golf in Cherokee North Carolina

If your looking for a truly one-of-a-kind, scenic, and challenging golf outing then look no further than Sequoyah National Golf in Cherokee NC! A spectacular place to golf in the Smoky Mountains and only minutes from Bryson City, Cherokee, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Sequoyah National Golf Club in particular is challenging to the average weekend golfer. As someone who has played the golf course regularly, many times paired with strangers from across the country, I have most certainly noticed the juxtaposition of delight and disappointment while making their way around the majestic grounds of Sequoyah National.  The views alone will completely distract you from the round of golf and your clubs will often be replaced by a cell phone to capture the scenery.  In fact, this begins at the practice area. Rather than utilizing the practice area by the driving range head on up to the first tee when your ready for a practice putting green with nearly 360 degree scenic vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains! My advice to most golfers, much like myself, is to just enjoy the round of golf. The rough is often too brutal to recover from so keep it in the fairways for a better score. Be prepared by taking plenty of golf balls with you as you will certainly lose more than average. Golf balls are available for purchase at the club house but are very expensive. Trust your gut and GPS Finder on distance since the elevation change and scenic vistas will throw you off mentally. Also, be sure to have a rain jacket, poncho, or umbrella in the golf bag; the Smoky Mountains are a temperate rain forest so afternoon and morning showers are extremely common.  Most of all, just know heading into the round that this will not be your best scoring round of golf; enjoy the play and the challenge and scenic vistas the Smoky Mountains provide!

Golf Course Layout
Sequoyah National is an out and back style golf course traveling through the Smoky Mountains for the duration of the 18 hole course. You will not pass by the clubhouse at the turn as is typical at many golf courses. There is an attendant who drives a beverage and snack cart around on most days of operation. There will also be a stand alone restroom at the turn near the tee box for hole number twelve. You will find many uphill shots, extremely elevated tee boxes, a handful of semi-blind shots, and just absolutely stunning vistas around every corner. This is truly a great course and place to golf in Cherokee NC, even if it is very challenging. There is built-in GPS inside the golf carts which is very beneficial as well.
