This is a nice hiking trail that is good for all experience levels. It most certainly has a little bit of up hill elevation gain but nothing too serious. This area and hiking trails were effected by wildfires and that will show along the 2.5 mile round trip hike. You will love the drive out through the Upper Nantahala River area into the middle of no where. Stunning views from atop of the fire tower await! And don't worry there is a nice viewing spot below the tower for those not keen on heights or towers.
